The IGP further warned petrol attendants to flee from selling petrol in jerrycan and plastic containers, as he stressed that whoever was caught either buyer or seller would be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.
This is a Laudable development that could curb the recent hazards linked to indiscriminate supply of fuel.
The inspector general of police Mr Solomon Arase has ordered the arrest of Petroleum black marketers nationwide, these arrest is more streamlined to those who are in the habit of selling petrol in jerrycans.and plastic containers.
The IG of police who gave the directives to all zonal Assistant Inspector General of police and all commissioners in the 36 states and the FCT, charged his officers to arrest anyone who was found selling petroleum products in plastic jerrycans .
The IG further stated that his reasons for giving the directive was to curb the activities of the black marketers which has caused untold hardship to buyers and also endangered the lives of the citizenry with the case of recent fire outbreaks recorded.
