A Boeing 777 aircraft belonging to Thai Airways which was en route Bangkok, Thailand from Jakarta Indonesia with 72 passengers and 12 crew members on board was hit by severe turbulence according to reports from The Sun.
Shocked by the incident the cabin crew posted photos of the bloody aftermath on social media, which showed a seat littered with blood from
an injured passenger who unfortunately had hit his head after bouncing off the roof of the aircraft.
According to a Thai online publication the injured passenger was not wearing his seat belt when he was thrown from his seat during the flight.
In an account given by Sarah-Jayne Edwards, 39, a passenger on board who was travelling with her daughter, she described this journey as the most scariest flight of her life which saw them experience Two hours turbulence without prior notice notice on board the flight.
She further gave account of how they were tossed up and down several times , everything flying to the roof and People hitting their heads here and there she described the incident as sooooo frightening.
In a statement released by Thai Airways through their Facebook page on Monday six people were confirmed to have been sent to a hospital
Meanwhile President of the Thai Airways Charamporn Jotikasthira has openly apologized on behalf of the company to passengers who were involved in the incident stating that the company has paid the cost of medical treatment for passengers and staff injured.
