Acting Post Master General Mr Enoch Ogun has been relieved of his duties, as he becomes the first major head to roll in the rift between the minister of communications and the the Nigerian Postal service.
The postmaster and his deputy were summoned to a meeting on Tuesday which was presided by the permanent secretary Mr Echono, unknown to what lied in wait for him , he was however in formed of his approved retirement by the minister and was subsequently asked to hand
over to the Mr Richard Balami who happens to be the next person in line by virtue of service longevity.
The ministry of communications and the Nigerian postal service had been at logger heads over the appointments of agents responsible for collection of stamp duties across various sections of the economy.
The out gone post master was due for retirement in 2015 , but was asked to remain in office bearing the appointment of a substantive postmaster.
